Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro

Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro

The new Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro will be competing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and will race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. To get ready for the season how do you think the German luxury car maker will be getting the LMP1 racing machine to the track?

Well for some events that will help countdown the start of the R18’s endurance racing season it will be driving on public French roads. While the car won’t be driven at high speed, such a site is guaranteed to draw a crowd. After all how often is a racing prototype driven on public roads?

This season should be entertaining as Audi, Porsche and Toyota all look to be crowned the king of endurance racing. For Audi it is a matter of retaining their throne, but at last year’s Le Mans race Toyota gave them more of a challenge. Plus Porsche is making its return to the top level of competition at the famed 24 hour race (they will also compete in the WEC) which may provide the greatest challenge.

For us racing fans it all should make for a great season. Now get ready for all the action and if you live in France, keep an eye out for the R18 as it may just flyby your street.
