2015 BMW M4 Convertible
The 2015 BMW M4 Convertible made its world debut at the New York Auto Show. The high performance car allows for fast driving with the option for the added drama of the wind in your hair.
The M4 utilizes its inline-6 engine to its full potential making it a potent street machine. While one can keep up with most newer sports cars you also get a change of personality when you open the top. When you choose to go “topless” it because a great cruiser for enjoying the sun, but with a stab of the gas pedal you can be off into the sunset.
The styling of the M4 Convertable is in line with traditional BMW styling. It has the expected split grill and modern smooth lines that flow nicely from the front to the back. There isn’t much styling wise to let others know that this is a serious performance machine.
The only real hints, besides the M4 badging, are the more aggressive front spoiler, side air outlets and the rear diffuser that highlights the four exhaust pipes. This makes the car a bit of a sleeper.
In the convertible M4 you also get a retractable hardtop roof. This allows for open-air driving when it is sunny, but the comfort and security of a hardtop when it is cold or you park the car. The one downside to the design is that you loose some trunk space to the roof when it is down.
The Interior is sporty and luxurious. It features plenty of leather and two tone options which help break things up nicely. The seats are well bolstered to help keep you held in tight should you decide to take a corner quickly.
The sporty convertible has small seats in the back, but they are only really designed for small children or hobbits. The BMW M4 offers top notch materials in the interior and it helps you feel like you are driving a luxury performance car even when sitting in traffic.
At the heart of the BMW M4 Convertible is a turbocharged inline-6 engine that puts out 425 horsepower. When mated to the 7-speed semi-automatic transmission the M4 Convertible can launch from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and with the 6-speed manual you can hit 60 mph form 0 in 4.4 seconds.
The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. Which means that you can only see what the “Ultimate Driving Machine” can do up to 155 mph.
Pricing will be announced closer to the release of the BMW M4 Convertible, but expect to pay a premium.
If you are looking for a high performance car that allows for open top driving then the 2015 BMW M4 Convertible may be right for you. Performance figures put it in the same range as the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet which makes one of its biggest rivals. However, if you want your engine in the front and don’t mind that the chassis may not be as well sorted out as the Porsches, then the M4 should provide plenty of driving fun.
