2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
The 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is a limited production car that marks the end of the current generation of the company’s V lineup. As a swan song production of the two-door luxury performance car will be limited to just 500.
The V-Series of cars has been very popular for Cadillac, so these 500 vehicles will likely get snatched up pretty quickly. The new Coupe promises plenty of luxury with performance that will put many sports cars to shame.
The 2015 CTS-V Coupe has the very angular styling that the series has become known for. There aren’t many curves on this body as almost everything is a sharp angle.
From the front you get the prominent Cadillac emblem on the grille and the hood has a bulge on it hinting that there is something special inside. From the side you get hidden door handles, front air-outlets and an almost smooth design.
If you come around to the back you are treated with more bold angles that lead the eyes down to the middle exhaust pipes.
The styling is considered vulgar by some, even after it has been around for a while. However, because of its bold angles it stands out from a crowd of bubbly cars.
The interior may be very upscale with plenty I leather, but it isn’t your grandpa’s Cadillac. Just look at the bolsters in the seats, granddad wouldn’t buy a car with Racaro performance seats like that.
The CTS-V Coupe gives its driver the feel that they are driving a high performance vehicle, but without sacrificing any luxury. All the materials and trims are of good quality and the controls are very driver centric.
At the heart of the limited edition is a supercharged V8 engine that pumps out 556 horsepower. 0-60 mph is managed in 4.0 seconds.
To put all that power to the back wheels the V8 is mated to either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. In order to bring all that speed back down to 0 Brembo brakes are fitted and they do the job very nicely.
The 500 limited edition coupes will start priced at $72,195, including a $995 destination charge and $1,300 gas guzzler tax (yes that V8 is a thirsty one). The two door CTS-V is available to order now.
If you want a Corvette, but also want a somewhat practical car then the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe may be right for you. It is going to be sold in limited quantities and is the last chance to purchase the current generation.
You could go for a comparable car from Audi, BMW, Mercedes and even Porsche, but the Cadillac has the most available power for the money. Much like the Corvette it represents the best performance value in its segment. You just have to fall in love with that blocky angular design, which you either love or hate.
