Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

There were some very good American performance cars that were released this year. Of these we chose the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Corvette Z06, Shelby Mustang GT350 and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat as our top picks for the American Performance Car of the Year.

After much deliberation as well as listening to your input on various social media and this blog, we have chosen the winner of this accolade. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has been chosen as our American Performance Car of the Year.

The 707 horsepower beast managed to best the others thanks to it being a near perfect all-rounder. It may be big a bulky, but it has enough power to dust most other sports cars. It has great retro styling, a modern suspension, enough trunk space to fit two full grown men and a back seat that an adult can fit in without cutting off their legs.

It can be your only car even once you have a couple of kids. It is capable to do all your around town errands with three passengers fitting comfortably. Then you can take it to the track or drag strip and scare them out of their minds.

The fit and finish is very high and the quality of the interior materials are better than you would expect in an American muscle car. It is nearly a perfect machine for any use and while it may be heavy, it is still quite capable (plus all that heft means you are more likely to walk away from an accident).

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is our American Performance Car of the Year and will compete against the winners of our European and Asian Performance Cars of the Year categories for the overall winner.
