2016 Mazda MX-5
Starting tomorrow at the Chicago Auto Show, Mazda will be displaying the new 2016 MX-5 accessory concert. The car will have plenty of add-ons that will be ready for purchasers of the Japanese roadster when it hits dealerships.
The MX-5 / Miata has quite a history at Chicago and the new car will be on display along side the original car that made its debut in 1989. The 2016 car is an attempt to get back to the roots of a lightweight sports car with weight being reduced by 150 pounds over the outgoing model. Add this to the 155 horsepower engine, that doesn’t have too much to lug around and you get a very fun driving machine.
For those who want to personalize their Mazda MX-5, the display will show how the car looks wearing an Aero Kit, Brembo Brakes, BBS Wheels and a Luggage Rack. This will give potential buyers of the roadster a look at how these items look on the car before they decide how to customize their ride.
“There is so much MX-5 history at the Chicago Auto Show, and we wanted to continue building on that,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations. “The MX-5 is the soul of our company, and its enthusiast following both inside and outside of Mazda drives us to keep innovating new ideas for it and the rest of our lineup.”
