Porsche Cars North America Experience Center
You may already know that Porsche recently opened their $100 million Experience Center and North American Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The new facility is located at One Porsche Drive and offers a fine dining restaurant, track, restoration center, classic car gallery and event center.
Now $100 million is a good chunk of change and you may be asking why they built the facility to begin with. Having been invited to past Porsche events in Atlanta, we may be able to give an idea of the advantages of such a place.
Click past the jump (or scroll down if you came directly to the full article) to find out more as to why this is such a big deal.
When we last visited Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) in, Atlanta, it was to experience the Porsche Panamera lineup on the road and track. For the event we stayed at a very nice hotel and were wined and dined ahead of the day with the vehicles. Of course all of this was outside of the PCNA offices.
On the drive we took the cars on some nice roads to a track (Atlanta Motorsports). This track was a good one, but was not controlled by Porsche and as such we were somewhat limited in how much we could test out the limits of the wonderful cars.
With their new facility when media or enthusiasts visit they can have a fine dining meal and then drive cars on a track that truly gives an idea of what a Porsche can do. In between track sessions visitors will be able to check out the classic cars produced by the German performance car maker. Plus, it is capable of hosting other events and owners of classic Porsches can get their vehicle restored back to what it was like when it first left the showroom.
This all gives Porsche an opportunity to display their cars the way they feel best represents them. They will be doing so to over 30,000 people a year, so it should be a great place for any enthusiast to visit.
We are looking forward to our next invite by the company, so we can check out their latest cars as well as the facility first hand. Until then, let us know what you think of the new North American Headquarters and Experience Center.
