Aston Martin at Le Mans
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is just hours away and it should be a very good one. While the Porsche (who set a lap record in qualifying), Audi, Nissan and Toyota battle in the LMP1 class is likely to be to top story, the GT classes are often the most entertaining.
This year Aston Martin looks like they may be the team to contend with in the GTE AM and GTE PRO classes. They will be challenged from Porsche, Ferrari and Corvette in the famed 24 hour race, but look to have the advantage so far.

In the GTE PRO class the #99 Aston Martin Vantage GTE took the class pole position. It was piloted by Richie Stanaway, who is competing on the Circuit de la Sarth for the first time.
“That was the start we were looking for, but there’s still a lot of work to do to win the race,” commented Stanaway. “The car feels great and we’re all on top form so we just need to bring it all together on Saturday.”
In the GTE AM class the #98 Vantage GTE took the first position for the class. Pedro Lamy not only put it in pole position but he also took the overall third position within the GT classes.
Below is how Aston Martin did in qualifying.
#99 GTE PRO – P1 in class
#97 GTE PRO – P3 in class
#98 GTE AM – P1 in class
#95 GTE PRO – P5 in class
#96 GTE AM – P12 in class
