2017 Audi RS4 Avant Rendering

2017 Audi RS4 Avant Rendering

Audi has unveiled the next generation of the A4 sedan and wagon. Of course this leaves the question as to if a higher performance variant will be available. Thankfully, the answer appears to be yes.

If rumors are correct the new lineup A4 will once again get the higher performance RS4 Avant. Like the outgoing generation, the RS4 will likely only be available in wagon form.

Rumors have the new RS4 Avant offering as much as 503 horsepower to compete with Mercedes’ AMG C63 Wagon. That would up the power lever by 50 horsepower over the outgoing model. All that power is expected to come from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 instead of the current 4.2-liter V8.

Speculation has a 0-60 mph time of just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of over 170 mph. For a car made for hauling the family, that is enough to make the kids very sick.

Now for the bad news. Because wagons aren’t big sellers in the United States the outgoing version wasn’t sold here. Unfortunately, this may be the case with new RS4, but this isn’t official yet so, it is still a possibility.

Our friends over at TopSpeed have sent us the above rendering of what they think the 2017 Audi RS4 Avant might look like. What do you think of it? Would you rock this family cruiser?
