Audi S4

Audi S4

Today Audi unveiled their new S4 and S4 Avant. The S4 is powered by a turbocharged direct injected 3.0-liter V6 engine. That equates to a healthy 345 horsepower output.

When you couple this to the 3,593 pound weight you get a 0-62 mph time of just 4.7 seconds. Flat out it can keep going all the way to the limited top speed of 155 mph. Plus, when you consider the performance, it pretty much sips on gasoline with the ability to get a very good 31.8 mpg.

The luxury performance sedan isn’t just about good straight line performance. No, it can also handle very well in the corners. Thanks to the new five-link suspension on the front and rear axle. It precisely separates the longitudinal and transverse forces, helping to ensure optimum handling in all driving situations. Variable speed-dependent dynamic steering is also available on the S4 as an option.

The suspension is adjustable with multiple driving modes, so you can have a comfortable ride with the family and then improve handling when driving a twisty road quickly; all at the push of a button. The Audi S4 is almost a full inch lower (0.9) than the standard A4. It comes standard with 18 inch wheels, but 19 inchers are available as an option.

Overall the styling is very Audi with the large front grille that proudly displays the brand’s four rings badge. The car does well making the driver feel like they are in control at all times while keeping a luxury feel.

The S4 Avant provides more room for luggage thanks to its wagon body style. Sadly, the U.S. will only be getting the S4 sedan as an option with the rest of the world getting to enjoy the performance family hauler.

The new Audi S4 and S4 Avant will be available for the 2016 model year.
