2017 Corvette Grand Sport Collector’s Edition
The very first 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Collector’s Edition will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida. The American sports car will be auctioned off on Friday, April 8th at 6:00 pm EDT. The best part is that 100% of the proceeds of the sale will go to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Expect for prices to be much higher than you could purchase one of these Grand Sport Collector’s Editions outside of the auction. Most of the time when a charity is involved in the sale of a car like this you can expect the price to be easily over $200,000 and often much more when all is said and done.
Powering the new Grand Sport is a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that offers 460 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. The design features a lower hoodline which helps in providing optimal weight balance. A dry-sump oil system delivers plenty of oil flow when cornering hard. All of this helps the Grand Sport deliver a consistently high level of performance.
Both the coupe and convertible will go on sale this summer in the U.S. and in the fall in Europe. The Collector’s Edition will be offered later in the model year in the U.S. and Europe. That is of course unless you are the winning bid for Vin #001 of the new Corvette Grand Sport Collector’s Edition.
We’ll be keeping an eye on how much the car raises for the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
