Dodge Viper 25th Anniversary Special Editions
Today is the official start of the 4th of July holiday weekend here in the United States. As our nation prepares to celebrate their independence we will also be saying goodby to an American icon this year.
The Dodge Viper has been with us for 25 years now, but unfortunately it is the end of the line. Many factors have gone into the decision by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to end production and a large part of us will miss the insane performance machine.
To see the snake off in the right way Dodge has a few 25th year limited edition models. But if you want one you’ll have to buy it on the used market. Not only did they sell out, but they did it very quickly.
All 28 examples of the Viper 1:28 Edition ACR sold out in just 40 minutes. The 31 VoooDoo II Edition ACRs took two hours to sell. The 25 examples of the Snakeskin Edition GTC had sold within two days. It also took two ordering days for all 100 GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACRs to get purchased.
Because of the high demand Dodge is adding another special edition, the Dodge Viper Snakeskin ACR. Up to 31 examples will be made and you can order them starting in mid-July.
“From just 40 minutes to five days, the 25th Anniversary special-edition Dodge Vipers sold out incredibly fast, insuring their future collectability,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Our customers are asking, so we’re adding one more special edition — the Dodge Viper Snakeskin ACR.”
For those able to get a hold of one of the up to 31 2017 Viper Snakeskin Edition ACRs you get a car with a unique exterior color inspired by the original 2010 Snakeskin ACR. This means you get the new Snakeskin Green paint color as well as a custom snakeskin-patterned SRT stripe. It also comes with the ACR Package, Extreme Aero package and carbon ceramic brakes.
Inside you get the interior of the ACR, and a serialized instrument panel with a Snakeskin badge. It also comes with a custom car cover that matches the exterior paint color. The cover displays the customer’s name above the driver’s side door.
If you are hoping to be one of the fortunate people to purchase a Snakeskin ACR, then you probably want to call your Dodge dealership now. These aren’t likely to last much longer.
