Porsche Cayman GT4
If you had attended the Pebble Breach Concours d’Elegance a few years ago and then attended this year then you may have been asking where the Porsche display was. For a number of years the German performance car maker had a display at the top of Peter Hay Hill.
However, the last few years this has not been the case and their presence of the headline event of Monterey Car Week has been absent. Just where has Porsche been during Pebble Beach?
This year there was a car from the marquee at Pebble Beach on Concours Sunday. The above pictures 1949 Porsche 356 SL Coupe was part of the field of cars in the most prestigious car shows in the world.
There was also a Yokohama display with the above pictures Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. The race car showed off the tire company’s racing products and was part of a display across from the Ferrari display, near the concept lawn.
Of course the parking lot is where you find quite a few outstanding machines. This Porsche 918 Spyder wearing Martini racing livery was spotted parked outside of Pebble Beach.
While not part of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Quail – a Motorsport Gathering, featured some beautiful Singer 911s reimagined. Porsche also had a display, including a Porsche Cayman GT4 in Carmel Valley and we spotted a number of Porsche 718 Boxsters and a 718 Cayman driving around the area.
The big events for Porsche enthusiasts were the Monterey Motorsports Reunion which featured a number of Porsche race cars. The big show for fans of the brand was Werks Reunion which, this year, celebrated the front engined models, the 924, 944, 968 and 928. Of course there were plenty of 911s, 914s, 356s, Cayman’s and Boxsters to enjoy.
While Porsche has not had a display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event for a few year, they still had a good presence during Monterey Car Week. For enthusiasts of the marquee planning to attend next year’s event, make sure to be there on Friday for Werks Reunion and plan to go to Monterey Motorsports Reunion. You’ll also find quite a few Porsches looking for a good home at the various auctions that happen during the week.
