Porsche 912 Targa and Porsche Cayman GT4

Each weekday we will ask you a performance and/or luxury car question. You submit your answers in the comments and then the next day we will follow it up with the answers that we thought stood out most.

For today’s question we want to know what you would prefer, a classic car or a new car? Do you go for classic styling and a vintage driving experience or for the latest and greatest?

Also, make sure you are subscribed to Daily Rides using the below form to make sure you don’t miss our follow up article with the answers that we thought were above the rest.

    Classics are the best.

Newer is always better because you get better technology.

Seeing as how I’ve spent two thirds of a century living with the classics before they were classics (new MG’s, Healey’s, TR3s and 4s, Mercedes 190s, etc.), and then when they took on the patina and all that goes with it, I’ll take the new. There’s much to be said for the pure mechanical experience and sound of the classic Porsche’s, but there remains a wonderful mechanical connection to the new Porsche’s as well. And they continue to engineer plenty of visceral for my liking. So new it is for me.

I had a classic Mercedes but have owned newer cars since. Now I wish I had the classic back.
