W Motors Lykan HyperSport
The W Motors Lykan HyperSport has the kind of dramatic styling that we could see Batman driving. The car is the result of the work of Lebanese, French and Italian engineers. W Motors is based in Lebanon in the United Arab Emirate. It was made famous in Furious 7 in a very memorable scene with the late Paul Walker.
While the car isn’t German it does have a heart from the country. To look at the Lykan HyperSport you likely think there is a powerful V12 sitting in the middle of that car. If not a V12 then a twin-turbocharged V8 must be there like in a McLaren.
However, a V8 or V12 or even a V6 was not the choice of W Motors. They instead decided on a flat-six engine similar to a 911. In fact it is so similar that it is a modified engine that would otherwise go in a 911.
The power plant is made by legendary Porsche tuner, RUF. It pumps out a natural disaster producing 780 horsepower and 708 lb.-ft. of torque. This allows the supercar to launch from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Flat out and with enough straight road it can hit an impressive 245 mph.
This easily makes it one of the fastest production Porsche (well tuned Porsche) powered machines on the planet. With a price tag of $3.4 million it is also easily the most expensive production car with a flat-six engine powering it.
