Porsche Boxster 986
Winning a Porsche is the dream of most folks that don’t already own one. Even those that already have one of the German performance machines in their driveway are always happy to add another to their stable.
If you’ve ever wanted to get a free Porsche this could be your chance. The car being given away is a 986 generation Porsche Boxster that is claimed to have been driven by the Grand Tour’s (and formerly Top Gear) Richard Hammond. It is free to enter to win the roadster and we think this could be a genius idea.
Why is this giveaway a genius idea? In order to enter to win the 2000 Porsche Boxster with a 2.7-liter flat-six engine, all you have to do is subscribe to the YouTube channel, Driver 81. When you think about the fact that a non-S 986 around the 2000 model will run you under $10,000, it isn’t a huge investment to give it away.
The idea is also brilliant as the car will not be given away until the channel reaches 100K subscribers. Currently, Driver 81 has 27K subscribers, so it still has a way to go. The car will be driven until the giveaway which makes it an easy way to get a larger subscription count. If 100K people subscribe to Driver 81 then the ad revenue alone will make it financially smart to have given the vehicle away.
The 986 Boxster that will potentially be given away does look pretty clean and does have some styling upgrades. These include a GT3 style front bumper as well as clear headlights and taillights.
