Mazda MX-5 Miata
The Mazda MX-5 Miata is an important car. The little roadster opened the door to cars like the Porsche Boxster and BMW Z4.
The Miata showed that the public would once again buy a small roadster, like they did with European small convertibles of the 60’s. The Japanese sports car was a departure from the 60’s open-aired cars that were mainly built by British manufacturers.
The Mazda MX-5 is lightweight, affordable, great handling and dependable. While Mazda did not put huge power in the small machine, it was so well balanced that it gave a near perfect driving experience.
Sure there are some that say that it is a “girls car” or only “hair dressers” drive a Miata; but those are mainly people that haven’t driven one. These are the same people that put down most roadsters without experiencing them.
For those wanting more power the Miata is very tuner friendly. From turbocharging to V8 swaps the MX-5 is a great platform to build a high performance car.
