Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Versus Porsche 911 GT2 RS
This past week the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ set a new production car lap record. The raging bull managed a lap time of just 6:44.97 besting the previous record holder, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
Last year the 911 GT2 RS lapped the ring in 6:47.03. That’s right, the Aventador SVJ beat the record by two seconds.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ will make its world debut at Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week. Full details of the SVJ will be released closer to the debut. About all we know now for sure is that each horsepower only needs to move 4.37 lbs.
Two seconds doesn’t sound like much, but can equal a great distance on a track. We have been given footage from both Lamborghini and Porsche for the two record laps. The below video shows both fast cars lapping the “Green Hell” at the same time so you can compare exactly how the laps played out.
