Porsche 987 Cayman
The Porsche Cayman is a wonderful balanced sports car. While the 911 gets the headlines for the Porsche lineup, the Cayman and Boxster are no slouches. In fact, if they were the sports car for just about any other car maker, they would be the stars of the show.
In a world where used car prices are crazy, fueled by supply chain shortages. Thus affecting new cars combined with seemingly out of control inflation, used cars can cost more than they did originally.
While this somewhat makes sense with sedans and SUVs, as people don’t have a choice, a Cayman is usually a second car. Most buy them as more of a luxury for the weekends (although they are great daily drivers).
This makes the fact that the 987 Cayman has seen prices rise quite a bit in a short time seem like there may be more to it than just a crazy used car market. Of course this bubble very well could pop, or this could just be the new normal for Cayman prices and the cheapest that they will be for the foreseeable future.
While nobody can predict if it is a good time to purchase a 987 generation Porsche Cayman, it certainly will be entertaining to drive if you purchase one.
In this video I talk in more detail about the reasons why the Porsche 987 Cayman prices are skyrocketing.
