When talking about supercars the term affordable is quite relative. For some $100,000 is a reasonable price, for others $50,000 is a nice price. For most about $30,000 or less is the within reach price range.

A new 2018 Audi R8 starts at $164,900 which puts it well above most people’s budget. Fortunately, for supercar enthusiasts on a budget, depreciation has hit the early R8 pretty hard.

We love cars, but are they a good investment? Should you dump your stock portfolio and plan to use classic cars for your retirement? Why do so many wealthy people invest in cars? One that involves the Golden State no longer being part of the Union. The petition for succession is being called Calexit (taking a similar name as the successful Brexit). There are seemingly impossible odds for California to leave the United States, but what if it worked?

Porsche 918 Spyder

Porsche 918 Spyder

For most of us owning a Porsche 918 Spyder would be a dream come true. The hybrid supercar is an important technical achievement. It is the fastest production car to lap the Nurburgring putting its 887 horsepower to good use.

The German hypercar would be the crown jewel of most of our garages with us never even thinking of selling it. With a price tag around a million dollars, it is a dream most of us won’t experience (beyond the fact that only 918 were ever built). With its low production numbers, desirability and automotive importance the 918 Spyder is a pretty safe bet for a decent investment.
