A Father and Son Rauh Welt Porsche

Leh Keen is a successful road racer who has driven many great racing machines. Recently, he has been racing Ferraris and before that he drove the legendary Brumos Porsche 911.

It should then be no surprise that he would be interested in something like a Rauh Welt Porsche. However, his father (McGrath Keen) was the first one to bring up the idea of owning a 911 Rauh Welt.

The 993 based tuned Porsche has a very unique look and is a race car for the street. It is fitting then that a racing family would add one of these stunning creations to their garage.

This video from eGarage shows Leh and McGrath Keen talking about how they came to purchase the 993 Rauh Welt Porsche. It also shows footage of the build by Nakai of RWB.

Watch the video below and then let us know what you think of the car in the comments.

Video: Techart Cayman GT Caught In Germany

By   July 23, 2013

Techart Cayman GT

The stock Porsche Cayman S (987) is one of the best cars that the Germans performance car maker has ever made. The mid-engined designed allows for great handling and it offers very good stock performance. It is a lighter weight sports car that has been nipping at the heals of the base 911 Carrera for a while.

Even though the 987 and new 981 offer very good performance when in S model form many enthusiasts have wished for a bit more power. What if Porsche decided to make a performance variant of the Cayman, much like the 911 GT3? If such a car was built it may look and perform a bit like the Techart Cayman GT.

The modified car looks much like a GT3, but still retains the basic Cayman shape. The car’s engine is tuned to 385 horsepower which equates to a 0 to 62 mph time of just 4.9 seconds and it can keep going to a top speed of over 186 mph.

This video captures the tuned 987 near Stuttgart, Germany as it was visiting the Meilenwerk. It features some good footage showing off the styling of the mid-engined sports car.

Checkout the video and then let us know what you think of the Techart Cayman GT (987) in the comments below.

What Is Better A Tuned Audi S4 Wagon Or A Base Porsche Cayman?

By   June 4, 2013

A Tuned Audi S4 Wagon and a Base Porsche Cayman

Recently, Matt Farah and Chris Harris decided to answer the question, what is better a tuned Audi S4 Wagon or a base Porsche Cayman? The tuned Audi S4 Wagon is quite a sleeper that can put out 415 horsepower. That is quite different from the base Porsche Cayman that has a mere 275 horsepower.

The S4 belongs to Chris and after watching the video, you start to wonder if he has ever heard of a vacuum. Perhaps the folks over at Dyson can help him out a bit. Even though the car is dirty and scratched, it just disappears into the distance when the gas pedal is punched. While capable of hauling around the family the car provides plenty of performance in a package that nobody would expect to be quite so fast.

On the other hand you have the Cayman, which has much less horsepower than the Wagon. However, the car is lighter and much more balanced helping to get the driver more involved. So, with the Porsche it is all about the driving experience. The downside is when driving behind the tuned car it just isn’t fun watching the more powerful sleeper get away from you so quickly.

In this video the two cars are tested and then Chris and Matt try to decide which is more fun to drive. It is a tough choice between theses two cars, but if you were to go for the Cayman S over the base model much of the horsepower disparity would go away.

The SpeedArt Turbo S takes a 997 variant Porsche 911 Turbo S and makes it stand out even more from other 911s. The standard 997 Turbo S is quite a car and one that most people would be happy enough with. However, if it just isn’t enough for you SpeedArt will take the car and give it a more purposeful look.

This video features the tuned sports car at the 2013 Tuner Grand Prix held at the Hockenheim race track in Germany. The car looks right at home on the track, even with the convertible top. The video features some closeup footage of the car as well as some footage of the car being driven at speed on the track.
