Over in our new Car Q&A section a visitor left a question about the why the Porsche Cayman GT4 has 10 more horsepower than the Boxster Spyder. Since the power plant of both cars comes from the 911 Carrera S, why don’t they both have the same output?

Furthermore the 911 Carrera S outputs 400 horsepower and 430 horsepower with the power kit, so why don’t the Cayman or Boxster offer this type of horsepower? Well, we all know that Porsche wouldn’t detuned the cars, so there must be another explanation.

But does the standard 911 Carrera still have a place for potential buyers or is it now a ridiculous purchase? Have we witnessed the beginning of the end of having the 911 be the top of the line sports car for Porsche (outside of supercars such as the 918 Spyder)?

In some ways after a punching a producer over a catering dispute the BBC’s hands were tied. Publicly they needed to make sure it wasn’t considered OK and since the senior producer wasn’t going anywhere it could have created more conflict. Of course as a fan of the show, it just won’t be the same without Jeremy’s whit and the way he held together his co-hosts through good natured ribbing.

Click past the jump (or scroll down if you already have come directly to the full article) to learn of some of the possible new hosts as well as where we could see Mr. Clarkson in the future.
