Porsche 804 - Porsche’s F1 past shows way to its future

The Porsche 804 was a flat-eight powered open wheeled race car. It competed in Formula 1 for the 1962 and that was the end of Porsche’s F1 history.

They would be rumored to return from time to time, but never raced in the series again. In its brief history it managed to get a victory at the French Grand Prix (it also won the Solituderennen at Castle Solitude in Stuttgart, but that was not a World Championship event).

The German performance car maker recent re-entered open-wheeled racing by joining Formula E. The all-electric racing series is the future of racing and as usual Porsche will build on its past while moving ahead to the future.
