Just last week Ferrari revealed the Ferrari 488 Pista and Porsche unveiled the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS. These track oriented machines boast extremely good performance figures that rival each other.

For these two machines the Italian sports car maker gains the advantage. The 488 Pista can spring from 0-60 mph in 2.85 seconds for the Ferrari, where the 911 GT3 RS takes 3.0 seconds to reach the same mark. Top speed also goes to the Italian as the German car can only hit 193 mph, but the Italian can go all the way up to 211 mph.

Porsche and Ferrari may be two very different companies, but each have made some of the fastest cars you can buy. Let’s take a look at some of the cars that were the fastest available for each marquee.

This past weekend was Rennsport Reunion V. The event was the place to be for any Porsche enthusiast as historic competition machines from the automaker took to Laguna Seca.

The amount of cars in the Monterey Peninsula from the German performance manufacture was simply staggering. Just about everywhere you looked in or around Laguna Seca was a Porsche.

Will You Be At Rennsport Reunion V?

This week is Rennsport Reunion V. The event is the place to be for Porsche enthusiast as historic competition machines take over Laguna Seca.

From September 25th-27th about 2,000 iconic road and track Porsches will take to the track near Monterey, California. Plenty of vintage and historic cars will race around the circuit or be on display.

We are right in the middle of Monterey Car Week and today is when the activities start to ramp up heading toward the weekend. It all is capped off by the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where you can see some of the finest machines ever built.

While the vintage automobiles are the main draw for many there are still many others that go for the newer cars. The highlight of this is the concept lawn where many of the most desirable automobiles and concepts are on display.
