2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and 2019 Ferrari 488 Pista
Just last week Ferrari revealed the Ferrari 488 Pista and Porsche unveiled the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS. These track oriented machines boast extremely good performance figures that rival each other.
For these two machines the Italian sports car maker gains the advantage. The 488 Pista can spring from 0-60 mph in 2.85 seconds for the Ferrari, where the 911 GT3 RS takes 3.0 seconds to reach the same mark. Top speed also goes to the Italian as the German car can only hit 193 mph, but the Italian can go all the way up to 211 mph.
Porsche and Ferrari may be two very different companies, but each have made some of the fastest cars you can buy. Let’s take a look at some of the cars that were the fastest available for each marquee.

The Porsche 911 Goodwood Festival of Speed Sculpture
As you probably know, this year Porsche celebrates 50 years or the 911. The iconic rear-engined sports car was celebrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. There was a model from each of the generations of the car and many racing variants of the 911. The crown jewel of the event was the sculpture that celebrated the German sports car and was over 110 feet tall.
This video shows all of the work that went on to make such a large sculpture possible. The iconic models on the sculpture include an early car, a ’73 Carrera RS 2.7 and a new all-wheel drive 991 Carrera 4. The size of the artwork is what really makes it incredible and the fact that none of the cars attached to it fell on anybody.
Checkout the video and then let us know what you thought of the sculpture in the comments below.
