Just How Much Faster Are Cars Now Than In The Mid-80’s

Automotive technology has come a long way. Much of what we see in cars today started with exotic cars from the mid-80’s. From early two-turbocharger setups, all-wheel drive setups and ride adjustment, these are all things that are common in cars today, but back about 30 years ago these were new concepts. Some of them came from a necessity to meet stricter fuel consumption and emission laws.

Today it is normal to see cars pumping out well over 300 horsepower without thinking much of it. Back in the mid-80’s when the Porsche 959 was introduced it made 444 horsepower, which was considered enormous power at the time. That figure is now bested by a Ford Mustang GT.

This 800 Horsepower Prius Hellcat Is The Only Prius That Should Exist

The Toyota Prius is known as a very economical vehicle. The hybrid offers about 130 horsepower, depending on the year, which doesn’t provide much acceleration; although, it can get pretty good gas mileage. Beyond that even the bit of acceleration that is available, most owners refuse to use because they want the most miles per gallon possible.

In many ways driving a Prius says you don’t care about cars at all. Sure you care about the environment, but not having any enjoyment in an automobile. But there is a build that changes all of that.

When your automobile gets a dent in it you simply can’t wait to get it out. For decent sized dents on largely flat panels a common technique is to use a suction cup. Auto parts stores sell suction cup dent pullers made for the job. But what if you want to save some cash?

Sure you can go to the store and purchase one, but you may have something around the house that can do the job. For us that was a GoPro and we wanted to see if it would work to pull out the dent.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon made its debut in New York in a press even during the New York Auto Show. We’ve had what seems like months of anticipation, but finally have the real numbers. The car’s name says about all you need to know as this new Dodge is so scary, it is straight from Hell.

The Demon is the car for people that look at the Challenger SRT Hellcat and say, 707 horsepower just isn’t enough. In a straight line it is hard to find a faster production car. We just need one second for us to pick our jaw up and then we can share the specification highlights.
