Audi E-Tron Quattro
The World Endurance Championship (WEC) season including the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans race are quickly approaching. For a while now, Audi has stood on top of the world of endurance racing. They have used many technological advancements to do so, including their all-wheel drive system.
In past years the rules only allowed for the all-wheel drive system to be used at speeds above 75 mph, but this rule has now changed and all-wheel drive can now be used at lower speeds as well. This should give this year’s prototypes more traction at lower speeds.
Audi’s E-Tron Quattro will have some stiff competition this year. It will be going against a legend in motorsport and one that has ruled Le Mans in the past. Of course I’m referring to Porsche and how they once dominated the 24 hour race. They are making their return and will also be using an all-wheel drive system to their advantage.
With both Porsche and Toyota looking to take Audi down from its throne, they will need to use all of their knowledge to hang on to the top spot.
For those of us that just love good racing, we certainly look to have the potential for some epic races this season.
