When the Ferrari LaFerrari made its debut at the Geneva Motor show it was one of the stars (if not the star) of the show. The car’s looks are stunning and the performance of the car looks like it will be incredible. The only criticism that anybody has really had so far is the name.
While it will be a little while before anybody in the press can fully review the LaFerrari the car looks like it is going to be one of the greats. That is a good thing for Ferrari as it needs to be a great car because it will be going against the new McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
The above video shows the second video of a Ferrari LaFerrari concept car. This shows the design that was being considered at one time and it also displays the code name of F150 (I kind of wish it had kept that name) that was going around.
Will the Ferrari LaFerrari live up to the Ferrari Enzo that it replaces? We will just have to see, but it looks like it will be quite a car for the lucky few that can afford it.
At the Geneva Motor Show Ferrari has unveild its Ferrari Enzo successor. The car is called the Ferrari LaFerrari (people had been alling it the Ferrari F150 until the name was officially released). The new hybrid Ferrari is able to produce up to 960hp when the V12 engine and the electric motors combine and has a top speed of around 220MPH, so it should be quite a car to drive for the lucky few that can afford one.
The above video shows the Ferrari LaFerrari on the road being driven hard. The video shows the cars heritage and a some brief images of the cars interior and then shows the car driving with the wonderful sound of that V12 engine in full force. Highlighted in the video are also the technical advances. This car will compete with the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder as the top production supercar money can buy.
Earlier today I posted that the new Porsche 911 (991) GT3 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new car will only be available with a PDK transmission (for better or worst) that has been redesigned for lightning fast shifting. This new transmission along with a 475hp engine and a 9,000 RPM red-line make for a car that will go 0-60MPH in 3.3 seconds and get from 0-124MPH in just 12 seconds. The Porsche 911 (991) GT3 would be the talk of the show, but it is sharing the supercar stage with Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren at the Geneva Motor Show.
For Lamborghini their big supercar is a 740hp very limited edition car called the Lamborghini Veneno. The Veneno has a powerful 6.5 liter V12 engine, aggressive styling and a price tag of over 4 million dollars! The new Lamborghini Veneno will only be sold to three fortunate people, so it is an instant collector’s car. Also, if you have that kind of money and haven’t bought one of these yet, it is too late as they are already sold out.
For McLaren the highly anticipated successor to the McLaren F1 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new McLaren P1 looks to take McLaren back in the territory of the fastest production supercar in the world as the McLaren F1 was. While the McLaren MP4-12C is quite a supercar the new McLaren P1 is looking to make that great car look pedestrian.
For Ferrari it is all about the Ferrari Enzo successor that is currently being called the Ferrari F150. The Ferrari F150 will be a hybrid supercar much like the Porsche 918 Spyder and will be competing with the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 when it goes for sale. The car is rumored to have up to 900hp available when the V12 engine is added to the output of the electric motors.
With four supercars set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show it is hard to keep from being too excited. This may prove to be one of the best years for supercars in many years and these cars look like they could be some of the all time greats.
Let us know which one of these debuts you are looking most forward to.
Ferrari is testing the Ferrari F150 and the car has been spotted at the Fiorano Circuit. The new Ferrari F150 is expected to debut at this years Geneva Motor Show. The new Ferrari supercar is expected to be a 7.3-liter V12 hybrid with up to 950hp.
The above video shows a sighting of the Ferrari F150 testing and while the clip is very short it does feature show the car and you can hear the great sound of the engine. The new Ferrari will have some tough competition when it comes out with the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 all expected to come out within the next year or so. The next few years should be pretty good for supercar lovers.
The Ferrari F150 is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in about a month. The replacement for the Enzo Ferrari has some very bug shows to fill, but it looks like Ferrari may have something great in the works. The car is rumored to have a V12 that will have up to 800 hp when an additional 150 hp is added from its KERS system. This should make it interesting with the Porsche 918 Spyder coming out, we will see if Ferrari or Porsche has the better machine.
The above video shows the Ferrari F150 testing in camouflage. The car, even in the camouflage looks good, but it is the sound that really stirs the soul. The video features both the F150 and the Enzo that it is going to be replacing, so get ready for a Ferrari enthusiasts dream.
