Mercedes-AMG GT Four Door Coupe
A four-door coupe sounds like an oxymoron. But Mercedes-AMG doesn’t agree. They are planning to debut a new four-door performance car to compete with the likes of the Porsche Panamera and the BMW M3.
The new Ford GT is an incredible hybrid supercar. Unlike past Ford GT models with their large V8’s, at the center of the new GT is a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine pumping out 647 horsepower. With all that power in a relatively lightweight performance machine it makes a perfect drive on a winding road or the track.
Mercedes-AMG celebrates 50 years this year. AMG started as an external tuner of the Mercedes-Benz marquee before Mercedes eventually purchased them and brought them in-house.
To celebrate half a century of the two being under the same umbrella they have unveiled the Mercedes-AMG GT C Coupe. In the AMG GT lineup the C will sit between the S and the R.
Dodge has unveiled the new 2017 Dodge Challenger GT. The big news is it features an all-wheel drive (AWD) system. This makes it the first of the coupe American muscle cars to use all four wheels for traction.
Unfortunately, the AWD version of the Challenger is only available with a V6. Rumor is they tried to put it in the Hellcat, but scientists stopped them because with so much traction and power it could rip a hole in the space-time continuum. In fact they stated that they feared that any HEMI V8 would wield a power so great and terrible that it couldn’t be risked. Needless to say, we all feel safer that only 305 horses are available with all that traction, instead of 707.
Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have a new show, the Grand Tour, that will be on Amazon Prime starting on November 18th (if you don’t already have Amazon Prime, now may be the time to get it). The former Top Gear presenters will all be on the new show, but the BBC keeps the Stig.
