The Porsche 996 GT2 and 996 GT3 RS are blue chip collector cars. While the 996 generation of the 911 is one of the least loved incarnations of the rear engined sports car, these are important cars for the brand.

The GT2 and GT3 RS both represent the top performance variants of the 996 generation 911. The 911 GT2 is the top performing turbocharged 996 and the 911 GT3 RS is the fastest naturally aspirated 996.

Aston Martin has unveiled their new customer racing Vantage GT3 and GT4. The competition machines will make their first public appearance at the top endurance race in the world; the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will make its racing debut this weekend in the Michelin Aston Martin Racing Le Mans Festival. Is The Manual Transmission Unnecessary

The latest Porsche 911 GT3 reintroduced the traditional manual transmission. The first 991 generation GT3 removed the option with a PDK being the only option to shift gears. This decision makes complete sense.

Porsche’s Italian counterparts realized that a dual clutch automatic inspired by Formula 1 has a performance advantage.

Is the manual transmission now an unnecessary piece of equipment?

2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Just its name is enough to make other sports cars tremble in their boots and now it is even faster. The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS builds on the success of past GT3 RS models. It is faster and yet in a turbocharged world it continues to use a naturally aspirated flat-six (and there was much rejoicing).

For those that can pay the price (and it is up there), the 991.2 GT3 RS provides a track focused machine that can also be driven on the road. When we say track focused we mean track focused. A look on the inside will tell you all you need to know with the lack of back seats and the full bucket seats with carbon fiber reinforced backrests. Door opening loops and reduced sound deadening help enforce that this is a car made for a single purpose.

Porsche Is Getting Very Serious About The Porsche Boxster Spyder

With the pre-718 Porsche Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4, Porsche showed that they were getting more serious about their non-911 sports cars. At the time the Cayman sat above the Boxster in the model lineup. With the introduction of the 718 Boxster and Cayman the Boxster moved slightly ahead of the Cayman in the pecking order costing a bit more just as the 911 Cabriolet sits above the Carrera.
