Porsche Named Top Automotive Maker Website By J.D. Power

A study by J.D. Power has awarded the Porsche Website the top honor in their 2013 Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study. The study ranked key portions of the website and people looking to buy a new car rated their experience with each automaker’s website.

Porsche tied with Acura for first place with both companies getting 853 votes. The study was based on votes from over 10,000 potential car buyers.

New-vehicle shoppers have ranked Porsche highest in their 2013 Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study. This study measures the usefulness of automaker websites during the shopping process. The Porsche consumer website, http://www.porscheusa.com demonstrated its core strengths and achieved this First-Place finish with No. 1 rankings in the key categories of Navigation, Options/Features/Specs, Find a Dealer and Locate Inventory.

The Porsche website and the other three top performing sites use a scrolling feature that is extremely beneficial for tablet users. The study found that tablet ownership has increased 145 percent among new-vehicle shoppers since the 2012 Wave One study was completed.

Our websites are critical to our ability to drive demand and help our customers engage with our products,” said Andre Oosthuizen, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “We plan to continually push ourselves forward to deliver the best possible online experience.”

The J.D. Power Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study was based on responses from 10,196 shoppers who indicated that they plan to purchase a new vehicle.

Acura and Porsche tied for first place with a score of 853. The overall industry average was 823.

Porsche Rated Highest in J.D. Power APEAL

For nine straight years Porsche has ranked highest in J.D. Power APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) Study. The German performance car maker took home 884 of the possible 1,000 points. The industry average was 795 points.

Beyond winning the top honor the Boxster and Cayenne were awarded the top honors in their categories. Earlier this year Porsche was also ranked highest in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. The study shows how people that purchased new cars think of their purchase and this just shows the quality of Porsche.

For the ninth year in a row, U.S. customers have rated Porsche highest among all nameplates in the industry in the J.D. Power ‘APEAL’ (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) Study. In addition to the brand taking overall honors, the Porsche Cayenne and Boxster models rank highest in their respective vehicle segments (Midsize Premium CUV, Compact Premium Sporty Car). This is the second time this year Porsche led a J.D. Power study – Porsche also ranked highest among all nameplates in the 2013 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.

The J.D. Power ‘APEAL’ study measures the attitudes of more than 80,000 U.S. customers who purchased or leased a new 2013 model-year vehicle between November 2012 and February 2013. Questions are designed to evaluate ten categories of vehicle performance and design: exterior and interior styling, storage and space, audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN), seats, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), driving dynamics, engine/transmission, visibility and safety, and fuel economy.

Porsche earned 884 points on the 1,000-point scale, compared to the premium industry average of 844. The overall industry average was 795.
