At this year’s LA Auto Show the news that the 911 RSR has its engine in the middle overshadowed the new Porsche Panamera Executive Lineup. The redesigned Panamera has received plenty of praise and now you can get a slightly stretched version.

We experienced the previous generation of the Executive Lineup on both the road and track. The cars with more leg room are great for riding in the back. The one problem the Executive has in the outgoing model was that the rear seat bolsters lacked support in hard corners.

The New Porsche 911 RSR Is Mid-Engined And There Was Much Rejoicing

Porsche has pulled the covers off their new Porsche 911 RSR which will make its debut in January at the Daytona 24. Of all the modifications to the latest RSR, the biggest change is the location of the engine. Yes, the latest 911 racing machine features its flat-six power plant in the middle ahead of the rear axle instead of behind it.

Most Porsche enthusiasts will be quick to point out that this is not the first factory mid-engined 911. The legendary 911 GT1 had the same layout and it proved a successful competition machine. Porsche is hoping that the remodeled 911 RSR will have similar success in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) LM-GTE Class.

For Nissan enthusiasts, it doesn’t get much better than seeing the NISMO designation on a car. Both the 370Z NISMO and GT-R NISMO are crazy powerful and fast cars. Now the Japanese automaker is giving another model the NISMO treatment.

The 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO is a more driver focused version of the company’s popular sedan. The higher performance Sentra gets a turbocharger to help it make a bit more power.

The Jaguar XKSS is a rare machine built in 1957, but a few fortunate people will get to own a newly built 1957 machine. The continuation XKSS will be built by Jaguar to the same specifications as the original 1957 cars. It is as if one is able to travel back in time and buy a 50’s car and then bring it back to modern times with no wear and tear.

The British luxury and performance car maker has announced the date of the XKSS Continuation’s world debut. The debut in Los Angeles, California will coincide with the LA Auto Show in November.

One of the more anticipated debuts at the LA Auto Show is the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. The street-legal version of the GT4 transforms the Cayman and it starts to reach its full potential. Many were disappointed when a GT4 RS rumors had been dismissed.

The RS version may not be destined for production, but a track ready Clubsport version is. The car may be powered by the same 385 horsepower flat-six engine as the standard GT4, but it is a lighter more focused machine.
