Video: Jerry Seinfeld And Chris Rock Get Pulled Over In A Lamborghini Miura

By   July 19, 2013

Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock Drive a Lamborghini Miura

The Lamborghini Miura is one of the first supercars ever produced. The mid-engined car is one of the most beautiful looking cars ever produced. Sure it was a great looking fast car that had one big problem. At speed the front end liked to lift a bit which made it so you had less control than you really needed. So, for the track, without some major modifications, the car was not the best performing or safest car.

None the less, the car is one of the greats and is one of the fathers of the modern supercar. In this video Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock take a drive in a Miura to get some coffee. The video is entertaining as the two drive the wonderful car and share stories. Jerry decides to show Chris that the car is actually quite fast and then they soon meet a local police officer.

Checkout the video to see the beautiful Italian supercar and to find out if the two comedians end up in jail.

Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series Makes North American Debut

By   July 9, 2013

Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series made its North American debut this past weekend at Lime Rock Park. The one make racing series pits lightweight Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4s putting out 570 horsepower against each other. The cars are a very good basis for some exciting racing action and spectators were able to watch two good races.

Of note was the participation of actor, Dax Shepard, who had a very good weekend. He managed a podium finish in the one make driver’s series. Since all the cars are essentially the same the races are close and largely come down to driver skill.

Next for the series will be Kansas Motor Speedway on the August 17th and 18th. For those automotive enthusiasts not heading to Pebble Beach that weekend, it will be a great event for all spectators.

Press Release

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series enjoyed a successful North American debut in front of a large holiday crowd at Lime Rock Park, Connecticut this past weekend. The single make series, featuring lightweight, 570hp, all wheel drive Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4s, provided plenty of exhilarating action in two compelling races.

The weekend featured two 1-hour practice sessions on Thursday, followed by qualifying and the first ever race on North America soil on Friday, culminating with a second race prior to the ALMS North East Grand Prix on Saturday, providing drivers just under 5 hours of track time.

Away from the track, the Lamborghini Lounge provided a spectacular venue of first class hospitality for Lamborghini customers from across the North East. Some even made the pilgrimage to Lime Rock Park from as far as Laguna Beach to network with Drivers, Teams, Dealers, Lamborghini Management and other like-minded enthusiasts. One such fan included Hollywood actor and motorsports enthusiast, Dax Shepard, added his own unique touch of stardust to the weekend action, while proving his racing credentials with a brilliant podium finish on Saturday.

Dax commented, “What in the world is cooler than racing Lamborghinis? The cars look amazing and are incredible to drive. But it’s about more than the competing. It’s about becoming part of the Lamborghini family. The people are so welcoming, and the hospitality is the best I’ve experienced at a race – a great weekend.”

Automobili Lamborghini America Marketing General Manager, Jason Chinnock added, “This race weekend provided us with the perfect platform to launch the Super Trofeo Series in North America. We were able to provide Lamborghini customers, partners, dealers and fans with an extraordinary experience. Whether racing, spectating, meeting up with friends or other owners, we welcome all to future events.”

Following Lime Rock, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series moves on to Kansas Motor Speedway on the 17/18 August. There is still limited availability for the next round, where more of the same breathtaking racing and welcoming hospitality will be on display.

An Original Porsche 959 at the San Luis Obispo Concours

This past weekend was the San Luis Obispo Concours and Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes, Lamborghinis and more took over the Californian central coast town. The cars in the show range from a Porsche 959 to Ford Mustangs and everything in-between. The show had early cars from the 1920’s and 1930’s all the way to modern cars.

Ferraro F40

Ferrari F40

The Concours displayed not one, but two Ferrari F40s. It is not often that one gets to see one of these rare supercars in person and two see two of them was just incredible. The thing that made it even better was having the 959 in the show which took you back to the supercar wars of the late ’80s. We look to be once again going through a supercar war with Porsche, Ferrari and McLaren all coming out with hybrid supercars.

A Morgan

Beyond the German and Italian sports cars the Concours featured some really nice British sports cars. From Morgans to Aston Martins there were some great cars from England. There were also a good assortment of Jaguars and a few Lotus sports cars.

Lamborghini Diablo 6.0

The Italian cars included some wonderful Lamborghini Diablos. The supercars were well kept and according to one of the owners at least on of the cars was driven on a regular basis. If you have never seen a Diablo in person it is hard to describe just how low and wild the cars styling is. Pictures just don’t do them justice.

The Annual San Luis Obispo Concours is a good small show in the city located about half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The show has some good quality cars and while is nowhere close to Pebble Beach, it does get you ready for the grand daddy of car shows.

Below is just a taste of the cars at the show.

2,0000th Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 has reached the milestone of 2,000 vehicles produced. The Aventador was able to meet this production mark in just over two years. Compare that to the previous model, the Murcielago, which took four and a half years to reach the same production mark. Selling 2,000 vehicles that starts at over $350,000 is quite impressive, especially during a time when much of the world is having tough economic times.

The 2,000th LP 700-4 is being shipped to the Chief Intelligence Officer for AT&T, Thaddeus Arroyo, in the United States. Thaddeus is already a Lamborghini enthusiast and owns a Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder. After getting a drive of the Aventador he had to have one and who could blame him.

Press Release

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 achieved and important milestone in its history, with the 2,000th vehicle produced. The Nero Nemesis car, chassis number 2,000, rolled off the assembly line destined for the United States.

Its owner, Thaddeus Arroyo, Chief Intelligence Officer for AT&T, is a highly ranked U.S. exectutive and a passionate Lamborghini customer, who already owns a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder.

Following a test drive of the Aventador LP 700-4 during a Lamborghini event in Palm Beach, he was immediatley impressed by the extradaordinary performance of the car to the point that he decided to purchase it.

Tha Sant’Agata Bolognese plant’s productivity has noticeably increased for the Aventador LP 700-4 compared to the previous flagship model: the Murcielago took four years and half before the 2,000th example rolled off the assembly line. Launched in 2001, the Murcielago reached the 2,000-vehicle milestone in March 2006. The Aventador has reached this milestone in just over two years, with production currently of nearly five cars per day.

In 2013 the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, the most extraordinary open top super sports car, joined the succesful coupe. Initial pre-order expectations for this model have been exceeded and the order bank for both versions covers more than one year.
