Ford Mustang GT

Not that long ago we drove the new 2015 Ford Mustang GT. The American Muscle Car has just moved into the 21st century by finally changing to independent rear suspension. The move helps this newest Mustang become a much more capable track car than past models.

The GT has a very good 435 horsepower from its 5.0-liter V8 engine. This is more than enough to get just about any driver into trouble if they aren’t careful. But the best part of the Mustang GT is the intoxicating sound of the exhaust.

In this video we share some of the footage that we took of the interior and exterior styling of Ford’s pony car when we drove it. The short video captures the details that make the V8 ride stand out from the rest of the lineup.

Ford Mustang Blind Date

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and many people will be looking for love. For many this means looking for a date and often it is a blind date.

Ford thought they would help some fortunate guys find love. Or at least fall in love with the new Ford Mustang.

The American auto maker decided to set these guys on a blind date with a girl who had a very special talent. She is a professional stunt driver and through hidden cameras they capture the reaction of the unsuspecting passengers as she shows them what the American muscle car can do.

Watch the below video and then let us know what you think of it in the comments.

Muscle Cars, A Corvette And VW Type 1 At The CMBC Car Show

CMBC Last Car Show of the Season

CMBC Last Car Show of the Season

As we shared not too long ago, the Clovis Missionary Baptist Church (CMBC) in Clovis California, hosts a weekly community car show. The show runs every Friday evening through the spring and summer months.

The cars at the show are different from week to week and you will see everything from a 1920’s Ford to a new 2014 Maserati. This past weekend was the last show of the season and there was a good turnout of car enthusiasts.

After eating the good food that was provided by CMBC, we took a look at the cars on display. There were plenty of great rides, but for this video we focused on the American muscle and sports cars (with a Volkswagen thrown in for good measure).

The weekly car show has been a lot of fun for all the automotive enthusiasts as well as for the Church. It is also a good outreach opportunity to allow those in the community to know where the Church meets and if someone is looking for a new Church home, they may decide that this is a good place to attend.

We have loved attending the car shows and plan on having more coverage of future shows when the season starts again. Smaller intimate community shows like this one are a great way for people interested in cars to meet new people and see some great vehicles.

While we enjoy all the world class machines that we see at Pebble Beach each year, a more intimate show can be just as much fun and there usually isn’t a cost for admission.

Video: Getting Ready For Pebble Beach With A Community Car Show

By   August 14, 2014

CMBC Community Car Show

CMBC Community Car Show

This weekend we will be at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to bring you all the happenings from the world’s top car show. The automobiles new and old at the show and surrounding events are some of the best you can find anywhere in the world. We will also bring you coverage of some invite only debuts that will happen during the Monterey Car Week, so stay tuned for that.

In the mean time, to help get you excited about Pebble Beach, we thought we would share a short video that we shot at a local car show. This is the Community Car Show at the Clovis Missionary Baptist Church and the show happens weekly during the summer months.

It gives car guys an opportunity to show off their rides and to meet other enthusiasts. The show is also great for the Church as it allows people in the community to know they exist and to get to know some of the people that attend in a less formal setting.

Such low key car gatherings are becoming very popular. There are community car shows and cars and coffee events that happen all over the globe.

Most the cars at these events won’t be to the high qualities of Pebble Beach, but the barrier of participation is much lower. So, what do you prefer, a community car show or a grand concours like Pebble Beach?

Ford Does The Unthinkable With The 2015 Mustang

By   July 19, 2014

2015 Ford Mustang

2015 Ford Mustang

In their high powered V8 forms Ford Mustangs can be very fast. They are very quick in a straight line, especially a model like the 662 horsepower Shelby GT500, but when driving them you have to pray that you don’t see a corner.

The biggest culprit to the poor handling has been the lack of independent rear-suspension (IRS). Because of this many a ‘Stang has ended up off the road (and usually wrapped around a tree). Ford has pretty much made that solid axle handle about as good as possible, and it is fine in most cases on the road, driving at legal speeds. However, if you want to drive one on a road course at high speeds, then you had better know what you are doing.

The main reason that the rear-axle has stayed solid for so long is drag racing. Such a setup is preferred, so Ford hadn’t felt compelled to move since the car was first design.

Since then the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger have moved to IRS, although not all that long ago. Partly because of this and to help create added excitement for 2015 the Ford Mustang will finally have IRS.

This makes the newest Mustang the best handling pony car that Ford has ever made. Beyond the axle change, they have improved the suspension and have added better brakes. In fact the GT will get the same brakes as are found on the before mentioned Shelby GT500.

We look forward to checking out the new 2015 model and hope that it will include a better quality interior as the 2014 left a lot to be desired in build quality.

With all that horsepower and good handling, many will reconsider possibly buying American made once more.
