The prototype of the next generation of the Acura NSX has already been to Pikes Peak. However, it hasn’t made a high speed climb yet, instead being used as the pace car.

Now that the hybrid supercar is in production two specially prepped 2017 Acura NSX Time Attacks will make the climb up the side of the mountain. The cars will compete in the Time Attack 1 and 2 classes and will be driven by brothers James and Nick Robinson.

First Production 2017 Acura NSX

2017 Acura NSX

After just under nine years of waiting, the first production 2017 Acura NSX has rolled off the assembly line. The concept for the next generation NSX was originally announced by Honda in December of 2007 with a target release of 2010. Things took a while to get going, but we finally have the production version of the hybrid supercar.

The Acura Precision Concept To Make Its Way To The Windy City

By   February 9, 2016

Acura Precision Concept

The Acura Precision Concept made its debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) last month. For those not able to get over to Detroit to see the stunning machine you’ll have another chance at the Chicago Auto Show, which will be open to the public from February 13th – 21st.

The design of the concept is what the Japanese automaker is saying is a preview of the design of future models. The first much anticipated next-generation 2017 Acura NSX just sold for $1.2 million. The Japanese hybrid supercar was sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ. The car fetched the highest amount ever by the auction house.

The car that will wear VIN 001 was sold to Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and founder of Hendrick Automotive Group. He is now able to custom order the very first production model which will be coming to market this spring. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, based in North Carolina, and Camp Southern Ground in Georgia. This likely had quite a bit to do with the high price that the NSX sold for.
