BMW has announced that the new limited edition BMW M4 GTS will be available for the first time in the United States. Only 700 examples of the high performance vehicle will be produced, 300 of which will make it to our shores.

The GTS has already lapped the Nurburgring in a very good time of just 7 minutes 28 seconds. Those who can get their hands on one are sure to be happy with the twin-turbo charged rocket.

Lotus 3-Eleven Manages A 7 Minute 6 Second Nurburgring Lap Time; Well, Sort Of

The Lotus 3-Eleven has taken on the Nurburgring and has managed a 7 minute 6 second lap time. The famed track may not longer be keeping records of the fastest laps, but that won’t stop automakers from sharing them. The time helps prove that the 3-Eleven will be the quickest Lotus production road car ever made.

That time is very close to what was managed by hybrid supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1. The fast lap was done with traffic and talks of a possible 7 minute flat time on an empty track are being chatted.

The Nurburgring is one of the toughest and most famous racing tracks in the world. For Bentley it is the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race held at the circuit that is the next challenge for their Continental GT3 racing program.

The British automaker may be known for its high-end luxury cars, but it has quite a racing history. The GT3 looks to continue in the footsteps of the Bentleys that came before it.

Chris Harris Gives His Take On If The Nurburgring Change

As you may have heard a few weeks ago a tragic accident happened at the famed Nurburgring. The crash involved a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 getting to much air under the car which resulted in it taking flight into a group of spectators killing one of the people watching the race and injuring others.

As a result the NISMO GT3 has been temporarily banned from racing, while an investigation takes place. Because part of the issue was due to the car taking a hill faster than it should have, which allowed the air under the car, talk has quickly turned to potentially changing the track.
