Ferraris, McLarens, Porsches, Lamborghinis and More Were on Display at Pebble Beach
As you probably know this past week was Monterey Car Week. The time of year when the Monterey area is full of very expensive cars. So many top notch cars are on the road the many Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis become almost as common as Hondas.
The vintage automobiles in the Concours are stunning, but so are the displays that manufactures setup and the Concept Lawn is always a top attraction. This year McLaren and Ferrari had displays, however Porsche did not have their usual display at Pebble Beach as they were on display at Leguna Seca instead. However, the German performance car maker did make sure to put their 918 Spyder hybrid supercar on display at the event.
We have put together a short video made up of images from the Concept Lawn and Manufacture’s displays. Take a minute to watch it and then let us know which car is your favorite.
At the Pebble Beach Concept Law there was one car that stood out for different reasons than other cars. The car was the Renovo Daytona Coupe and it stood out because it looked like it was in the wrong section of the event. Thanks to its iconic classic shape it looked like it should have been part of the Concours d’Elegance.
That was until you found out that it was actually a new all-electric vehicle. The car starts out with a body and chassis from Shelby (hence the Daytona Coupe look) and then they add an electric motor and modify the brakes and suspension.
The electric power plant puts out 500 horsepower and they do their best to keep everything lightweight. The batteries have a 100 mile charge and you can quick charge them in 30 minutes. While still not where it needs to be in order to drive on a long trip, it can get around town without issues.
This video from our friends at XCAR gives all the details on the $500,000+ car. It also includes talk about the company’s plans to set some Nurburgring records.
Watch the video and then let us know what you think of the car. With its classic styling and high performance output, it looks like we can still have fun in cars even if they don’t use gasoline.
