It is spring time and the 2016 Baseball season is almost here. We are just days away from the first pitch and Chevrolet continue a recent tradition that this year will feature the Camaro SS and Colorado.
Both vehicles have received much acclaim, in fact they were named Motor Trend’s car and truck of the year. Both cars will be positioned behind centerfield of Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan.
Last year Chevrolet let us enjoy a fifth-generation Camaro with the 1LE Package and it made for quite the machine. The car we were given even had the optional Recaro seats (and they are definitely worth the extra cost). The package transformed the already capable SS into a better handling more potent machine ready to take on the track.
This time around all the handling fun is also available for sixth-generation cars with the V6 power plant as well as the V8. The upgraded suspension, brakes and tires really allow you to perform better in the curves. However, it is the cooling improvements that are probably the biggest feature on the track as they help protect your engine when you put it through a grueling day of hard driving.
We are now a few days into 2016 and we hope it is going well for you thus far. For us 2015 was a very good year and it was a great overall year for the automobile.
The fact that the last half of the year saw gasoline prices plummet is music to any performance car owner’s ears. These lower prices have given us even more reason to take our pride and joy for some extra enjoyable drives.
What makes a muscle car a muscle car is something that will get plenty of arguments. According to some purists none of the current crop would make the cut. The fact that all modern muscle cars have independent rear suspension is one deal breaker for them.
For us we count mainly four cars as modern muscle cars. The Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger. These all offer variants with more horsepower than brains and yet these modern cars are able to take a turn much better than their classic models. Between these we will choose our Muscle Car of the Year.
