New Porsche 911 Turbo Commercial

Porsche 911 Turbo (991) Commercial

The new Porsche 911 Turbo looks like it will be just an amazing car. The performance of the new 991 Turbo will set a new benchmark for what is expected in a sports car.

The figures for this car are pretty impressive with the Turbo model putting our 520 horsepower and the Turbo S model upping that to 560 horsepower. Thanks to this The standard car will launch from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and the S model rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds (a tenth of a second slower to 60 mph than the current Bugatti Veyron). This great performance gives you shivers when you think of how fast the GT2 will be.

This video is a commercial introducing the new Turbo model. It talks about how the new car started from scratch in that they questioned everything that they already knew. The commercial is very well done and entertaining, plus it has some good footage of the car.

1,208 Porsche 911s Parading Around Silverstone

This year is the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 and there have been many great events celebrating the iconic rear-engined sports car. One such event was the setting of a World Record for the most 911s at one place at the same time. The original idea was to have 911 Porsche 911s driving on the track, but there was so much interest in participating that they easily eclipsed that number.

This video shows the cars driving around the famed Silverstone track on July 28th. The parade had an incredible display of cars with a huge variety from each generation of the rear-engined sports car. The parade was kicked off by the great-grandson of 911 designer Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche, Mark Porsche.

Some of the cars even had some legendary drivers behind the wheel. These drivers included five times winner at Le Mans, Derek Bell and Richard Attwood who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970.

Checkout the 25 minute video and let us know which 911 was your favorite in the comments below.

Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Rounds 7 And 8 Highlights

Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Highlights

Rounds 7 and 8 of the Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge took place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (a.k.a. Mosport) in Canada. There was plenty of drama in this round with Ashley Freiberg that came in as the points leader not being able to race in either round due to damage to her car that happened during a wet qualifying session.

This video features highlights from these very close races in the one make series. There was some great action and especially in round 7 the finish was about as close as you can get. There is some great footage of the races including the damage that forced some of the cars to fall down the pack. It also features some great behind the scenes footage and interviews with the promising racers.

Let us know in the comments below what you though of Rounds 7 and 8 of the Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge.

First Drives Of The 2014 Corvette Stingray

2014 Corvette Stingray Gets Driven

The first reviews of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray (C7) have been released and Motor Trend and Car and Driver are the first two publications to get to drive the car. Both magazines have released videos reviewing the V8 monster that is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The car puts out an earth moving 455 horsepower straight from the factory.

Both reviews are of cars that come with the Z51 package. The optional package is designed for those that would like to autocross or track their cars occasionally. The package adds additional cooling for the car to keep it running well when pushed hard.

The C7 Corvette is arguably the best Corvette ever made. You get incredible performance and good handling from a package that is much more upscale than previous models. Not bad for a sports car that has a base price of just over $50,000.

Both of these videos are informative and show what the car is capable of, but the Motor Trend review is a bit more entertaining.

Watch the videos and then let us know what you think of the new Corvette Stingray in the comments below.

Restoring A Porsche 912 Barn Find

Restoring a 1966 Porsche 912 Barn Find

Barn finds are very rare and the 1966 Porsche 912 in this video has been sitting in a garage for many years. Thanks to sitting for so long the car was often a resting place for animals and even slowed mold to grow. Beyond this there was a layer of dirt that made it so the car was difficult to get an idea of the condition of the paint and body work.

This video shows the first step of the restoration of the Porsche 912 . It shows you how you go about cleaning the car to get under the layer of dirt. It also shows you how to clean the wheels correctly and how to bring the paint back to life. This car wears a single stage paint, so there is a lot of polishing to bring it back to life. It also shows you how to shine the paint without removing all the paint on the car.

Checkout the video and then let us know what you think of the Porsche 912 barn find.
